so basically what happens is that the girl is part of the resistance but likes the main guy.

main guy is emotionless but this girl breaks down all his defences and he starts to like her too

( i know cliche, whatever)

so there is an element of forbidden love here, so the war between the two classes still rages on, it has been about 3 years since colonization has first started and now the planet has been divided into two fractions.

so on one mission to destroy resistance strong holds, he discovers this girl and takes her to prison.

the main guy starts to question her and what not but fall for her charm, eventually she escapes and is now wanted for death.

search parties go out and look for her. main guy finds her, girl take the main guy to a secret location and revels to him mutants/aliens, the ones that looked exactly like the ones he fought to take this planet over, guy takes out gun in attempt to shoot but is stopped by girl, girl explains that theses people just started to show these symptoms, and were the first people to living on this planet on the outside for all this time, the air was mutating them and turning them into mutants and freaks.

girl explains to him that the aliens he was killing when he first came to this planet were not aliens at all, they were the first people sent on this planet to experiment and see if the living conditions were safe, obviously it wasn't, it led to mutation and led to an outbreak of more and more mutant offspring. the extermination was to cover the facts and to start over new, to use this planet as a balancer, to keep the rich fro dying, and to kill the poor, by mistaking them as aliens and "cleanse" the planet.

government planned for this to happen, saw what the poor were doing on earth, leeching off natural resources and making the gov use more money/resources to keep them, then to get rid of them, so devised this evil plan.

main guy is shocked and taken back, still works for the gov, but eventually confronts his boss and learns the truth, and decides to go awol, this makes it so that there is a warrant out for his death, and of course his rival is more then glad to take over hi postion and start killing more and more outlanders.

leads main guy to join the resistance and wants to help in the fight for equality for all.
